Guldpriser stiger – hvad betyder det for forlovelsesringe og vielsesringe?

Gold prices rise - what does that mean for engagement rings and wedding rings?

In recent years, the price of gold has risen significantly. This is naturally also felt in the jewelry industry, where gold is one of the most important materials – particularly in engagement rings and wedding bands, which are often worn for a lifetime.

At Liljefelt Jewellery, we closely follow developments, but our approach remains the same as always: to create jewelry from precious materials with a long lifespan and genuine value.

Here, we explain what rising gold prices mean – and how we handle it at Liljefelt.

Why is the price of gold rising?

Gold has always been a valuable material. It is used not only in jewelry but also in investments, technology, and central bank reserves.

When global demand rises, or when economic uncertainty leads more people to invest in gold, the price often increases as well.

For jewelry, this means that the material for gold bracelets, engagement rings, and wedding bands simply becomes more expensive to produce.

At Liljefelt, you can use your own gold

One of the solutions we often offer is to reuse the customer's own gold.

Many people have inherited jewelry or old rings lying around – perhaps a ring that is no longer worn but still contains valuable gold.

We can melt it down and use it in a new piece of jewelry.

In this way, the gold can get a new life in an engagement ring or wedding band, while the material already has a history.

It's a solution that some choose – for both economic and personal reasons.

Jewelry prices are adjusted continuously

When gold prices change, it naturally affects jewelry prices.

At Liljefelt, we therefore adjust our prices continuously to reflect the current gold price and the materials used in the jewelry.

However, once a customer has ordered a piece of jewelry – for example, an engagement ring or wedding band – the agreed price applies.

Even if the gold price rises in the meantime, it does not change the price of that order.

Gold has intrinsic value

One of the special things about gold is that the material always has an inherent value.

Unlike many other materials, gold can be melted down and reused again and again without losing its properties.

This also means that gold jewelry not only has emotional significance – but also real material value.

Therefore, when choosing a ring in solid gold, whether it's a wedding band or an engagement ring, one is also investing in a material that has historically retained its value.

Jewelry made to be worn for many years

At Liljefelt Jewellery, we work with 14 and 18 karat gold, which gives the jewelry strength and durability for daily wear.

All jewelry is designed by Michell Liljefelt, with a focus on organic forms, vibrant surfaces, and an expression that can be worn for many years.

Many of our rings are chosen as engagement rings or wedding bands, and precisely for this reason, the quality and durability of the material are crucial.

When a ring is worn every day, it must be able to last a lifetime.

A piece of jewelry with both meaning and value

Although gold prices can fluctuate, the most important thing for us remains the same: to create jewelry with meaning.

An engagement ring or wedding band is not just a piece of jewelry – it becomes part of a story, a promise, or a special moment in life.

At Liljefelt, we therefore work with materials and designs that can last for many years to come.
